Author and illustrator Susan Stockdale shares her approach to writing with students and explains how she arrives at a final illustration for her books. She also answers questions posed by students via telephone and e-mail.

Videotaped segments include Stockdale’s art studio where students see her working on illustrations for Bring on the Birds; kindergarten students experience a multi-sensory approach to learning with Fabulous Fishes; and first grade students use Stockdale’s book as inspiration to create a bird book of their own.
